Came here 20 minutes before closing. The only staff at the front were very friendly. The place looks sparkly clean Ordered a smash burger and brisket dinner By the time the food was ready, it was already 7 pm and we had to leave so that they can close Will definitely come back here and try their other sandwiches I was told that the “Rachel” is a good one to try so that’s on my bucket list and reason to come back Sans the kids
We went on a Friday during the late afternoon. We were a little nervous since no one else was in the restaurant. Our waiter took our order promptly. We opted for the soup and half sandwich combo. The matzo ball soup was delicious but it was not piping hot but warm enough to eat right away. We tried the Rueben (corned beef was lean and plentiful), the brisket cheesesteak ( served on a seeded roll with onions), and Potato latkes (served with applesauce and sour cream). My husband tried the chocolate egg cream (seltzer, milk, and Fox chocolate syrup). A few people came in for takeout while we were there. We overheard the manager speaking to a customer that they have been very busy with Goldbelly orders. It is nice to hear that a local restaurant is doing well.
One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! Stopped by The Borscht Belt and was completely blown away. The sandwich I had was packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere has that ...
The food is classic, & delicious!! So grateful they have this absolute GEM near by... it is a MUST. Tuna melt excellent & of course the pastrami on rye was on point! Must get the sides of macaroni salad & Coleslaw!! Love the vibe, almost forgot to mention that as well. Onto the black & white cookie will report back, I have high hopes
This is my new favorite deli! The food is fresh & delicious, the atmosphere is very cool. Christa is the best server— gave us excellent recommendations & attentive service with a smile. Thanks for everything!
The Borscht Belt was an amazing dining experience. The atmosphere was gentle and charming, and so was the gentleman who served us. The food was amazing. The brisket cheesesteak was the best cheesesteak I have ever had. The meat was moist, and the cheese was so strong and flavorful. It really elevated the dish! My wife and I tried babka for the first time here, and we were blown away by it. The Borscht Belt is fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves good food! We will definitely revisit!
I came here for lunch with my daughter, as we both looking for some good sandwiches. I had heard great things about Borscht Belt being an authentic NYC style delicatessen that also has great bagels. We weren’t disappointed! We came at lunch on a Friday, so it wasn’t busy at all. So the amount of service was impressive! We had five people check in with us to make sure we had what we needed, that we were enjoying our food, and bringing us samples to test. And all the workers, including the owner, were super nice. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the service. The food was also awesome. They provide pickles and coleslaw as an appetizer, both of which were great. We shared the potato latkes, which was delicious. My daughter had a breakfast sandwich on an amazing challah bread, and I had a soup and half sandwich. For the soup, I had the matzo ball soup, which was the best I’ve had. For the sandwich, I picked the Don Rickles (roast beef sandwich). They put a nice spin on a classic, with crispy onions, horseradish aoili, and jalapenos. It was fantastic. We also got a dozen of their authentic NYC Ess-a bagels to go. They are partially cooked in NYC and shipped here so they can be finished and served fresh. With so many creative dishes on the menu to try, and such great service, plus a great old school 50s deli vibe, how can we not come back? Looking forward to our next visit! Keep up the great work!
I went with my aunt who is a connoisseur of deli food!! We had such an amazing experience! We shared a 50/50 corned beef and pastrami on rye and a grilled cheese on challah. I must recommend to anybody who loves this kind of food or wants to try it!! It will be an amazing introduction to this style of food! We had wonderful service from our waitress to the owner greeting us and offering samples! Highly recommend and will be frequently returning!
